Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

"What's the difference between the Forever Free Plan and a Pro Plan?"

The forever free plan is for unlimited users to scan and capture an unlimited amount of business cards and trade show badges, adding them to the Salesforce scanning queue for processing as Leads or Contacts. Free Slack integration & scan PDF Documents.

A Pro plan is available on the phone for additional Salesforce Integration, Pardot Integration, Campaigns, Actionable Business Intelligence, premium OCR services, & your own Digital Business Cards & QR Codes. Visione: ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC2 Compliance.

"The option to send scans to the Salesforce Scanning Queue doesn't appear for users in the Scan app."

The option to upload scans to the Scanning Queue may be unavailable in the app for several reasons. This could be due to the feature being deactivated in the Mobile Scan Builder, or the user attempting to send scans not having the required permission set.

First, ensure the "Hide Save to Queue" option is not checked in the Mobile Scan Builder within Salesforce. If it is checked, uncheck it and save the update. Afterward, instruct users to refresh the settings in the Scan app or restart the app altogether.

Then, verify that users have been granted the necessary permissions. To upload scans to the Scanning Queue, users must have the "Scan App Permission Set" permission set assigned to them in Salesforce. Instructions for assigning permission sets are available here.

"Users cannot Access Account Engagement Forms when using the Forms enhancement or module."

To enable Account Engagement Forms, confirm that the "Hide Save to Account Engagement (Pardot)" option within the Mobile Scan Builder is unchecked. After ensuring it is unchecked, save the modification. Subsequently, users of the Scan app should refresh the app's settings or restart the app.

"I'm attempting to send a lead to Salesforce, but it's not providing an option to select a marketing campaign."

If the Campaign enhancement feature is missing from the Scan app, check to ensure the "Hide Save to SF Campaign" setting in the Mobile Scan Builder is not selected. You can find this setting under the "Options" tab within the "Destination Page" section. If it's turned on, turn it off and save your changes. After doing so, users should either refresh the settings of the Scan app or restart the app entirely.

"I just downloaded the Vision-e app to my phone, and it's connected to Salesforce, but it's prompting me to select either the "free plan" or "paid plan" (3-day free trial.)"

If a Salesforce User's profile or assigned permission set does not have API access, the app shows as the free version after logging in. Users must be assigned a Salesforce profile or permission set with API access to access the Pro-Plan features.

"Users receive an INVALID_FIELD error even though all required fields are filled out."

If a Scan app user lacks permission to view a field on the standard page layout, they will receive an 'INVALID_FIELD' error when attempting to save a record. To successfully save records, users can select the 'Use AI' option to map values, or Salesforce administrators can enable custom page layouts using the Mobile Scan Builder in Salesforce. Instructions for enabling custom page layouts can be found here.

For the Lead OCR page, the following fields are considered part of the standard page layout:

  • Company
  • Website
  • Name
  • Title
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Mobile
  • Address
  • City
  • State
  • Zip
  • Country

For the Contact OCR page, the following fields are considered part of the standard page layout:

  • Name
  • Title
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Mobile
  • Address
  • City
  • State
  • Zip
  • Country

For the event badge OCR page, the following fields are considered part of the standard page layout:

  • Company
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Title
  • Email
  • Phone

"I'm having trouble uploading a lead from a card scan. I've filled in all the fields available, like name, title, phone, and email. But it keeps saying there's a missing required field. Any idea why that might be happening?"

When using the Scan app without the Vision-e Scan AppExchange package installed, the OCR result screen displays only a limited number of fields. As a result, users will see a REQUIRED_FIELD_MISSING error and cannot save scans as Leads in Salesforce. To enable saving business card scans as Leads, install the Vision-e Scan AppExchange package, which can be found here.

"Full names are not being saved when saving a Contact or Lead from the Scan app"

Using the Scan app, the standard Contact/Lead page layout formats full names as 'FirstName LastName' with a single space between the first and last names. For example, if the name is entered as 'John Smith' (with an extra space), the last name 'Smith' won't be saved in Salesforce. Similarly, if the name is entered as 'John Michael Smith' (with more than two words), only 'John Michael' will be saved, and 'Smith' will be omitted.
