Custom Address Fields
For organizations where creating custom picklists for State and Country values is too cumbersome or inefficient, enabling Custom Address Fields is a good alternative. These fields function like standard address fields. If State & Country picklists are enabled in your organization, the picklist values will be applied to the custom address fields just as they are with standard address fields. You can also map these custom address fields to Lead or Contact fields in the Scanning Queue and add them to the Scan Item object layout.
Important: Once enabled, Custom Address Fields cannot be disabled! Please review any necessary configuration changes internally before enabling Custom Address Fields.

Enabling Custom Address Fields
If Custom Address Fields are not already enabled in your Salesforce organization, you will need to enable them.
Note: Once enabled, Custom Address Fields cannot be disabled! Please review any necessary configuration changes internally before enabling Custom Address Fields.
To enable Custom Address Fields:
1. Go to Setup.
2. In the “Quick Find” field, search for “User Interface”.
3. Click on “User Interface”.
4. In the User Interface settings menu, check the box for “Use custom address fields”.
- Note: Once enabled, Custom Address Fields cannot be disabled.
5. When finished, click “Save”.
Custom Address Fields are now enabled and can be added to the Scan Item object.
