Saving a Scan as a Lead or Contact

Saving an Event Badge Scan as a Lead


To save a scan as a Lead in Salesforce:

  1. Use the Scan or Capture modules to capture a picture of the event badge.
  2. After reviewing the picture, proceed to the Continue to OCR screen.
  3. On the Continue to OCR screen, select "Continue to OCR" to proceed to the OCR results screen.
  4. Review the information from the scan on the OCR Results screen, making any necessary updates. Then proceed to the Destination screen.
  5. On the Destination screen, include any Salesforce enhancements you wish to save with the Lead. Then, tap "Save as a Lead".
    1. After saving as a Lead, a popup message will confirm the successful save.
  6. Once finished, tap the Home icon to return to the home screen.

Note: If the Lead is detected as a duplicate in Salesforce, depending on your organization's Salesforce duplicate rules, there may be a message or you might not be able to save the scan as a Salesforce Lead.


Saving an Event Badge Scan as a Contact


To save a scan as a Salesforce Contact:

  1. Use the Scan or Capture modules to capture a picture of the event badge.
  2. After reviewing the picture, proceed to the Continue to OCR screen.
  3. On the Continue to OCR screen, select "Continue to OCR" to navigate to the OCR results screen.
  4. Review the information from the scan on the OCR results screen, making any necessary updates. Then proceed to the Destination screen.
  5. On the Destination screen, include any Salesforce enhancements you wish to save with the Contact. Then, tap "Save as a Contact".
  6. You'll then be prompted to search for a Salesforce Account to save the Contact under.
  7. In the search box, search for the Account. (A minimum of three letters is required for a search.
  8. After finding the account, tap the account name in the search box.
  9. A popup message will confirm the save was successful.
  10. Once finished, tap the Home icon to return to the home screen.

Note: If the Contact is detected as a duplicate in Salesforce, depending on your organization's Salesforce duplicate rules, there may be a message or you might not be able to save the scan as a Salesforce Contact.
