Scanning an Event Badge
Scanning an event badge is a straightforward process that involves a few simple steps:
1: To scan an event badge, select "Badge Picture" ("Event Badges" on Android) from the Scan or Capture module menu.
2: After selecting "Badge Picture" (or "Event Badges" on Android), the camera interface will activate. It will automatically capture event badges with QR codes or barcodes, and then continue to the OCR results screen. Users also have the option to manually capture event badges using the capture button at the bottom of the screen.
(For optimal OCR results, ensure the event badge is well-lit, free of glare, and placed on a contrasting surface during capture.)
3: After capturing the event badge image, users will be directed to the OCR results screen to review the scan results.
Here, users can add any additional contact information they wish to capture and can include further details using custom fields. Vision-e recommends using custom fields added to the page layout to record any question responses users want to save with the scan.
4: When finished, tap the "Next" arrow at the top of the screen to proceed to the Destination screen.
On the Destination screen, users can apply various enhancements to the scan and add it to a Salesforce Campaign when saving it as a Lead or Contact.
5: Once completed, the scan can be saved as a Salesforce Lead or Contact, or as a contact on their device.
