Scanning Using The Capture Module

Scanning a Business Card


1. Go to the Capture module.

  • Tap the Capture module to open the “Capture & Send” menu.

2. Select Business Cards

  • Choose “Business Cards” from the list of options.

3. Capture the Business Card

  • Use the camera to take a picture of the business card.

Note: For the best results, take the picture in a well-lit area with a contrasting background.

4. Review the Image

  • After capturing the image, continue to the review screen.
  • Tap “Use Photo” to move to the edit screen.

5. Edit the Image

  • In the edit interface, crop the picture to display only the business card.
  • Rotate the image to landscape orientation if needed.
  • Tap “Done” when finished.

6. Continue to OCR

  • On the OCR screen, choose whether to:
  • Send the scan to the Salesforce Scanning Queue.
    • You can also add Salesforce enhancements to the scan before sending it to the Scanning Queue.
  • Proceed with on-device OCR.

If sending to the Salesforce Scanning Queue:

  • You’ll get a confirmation message and return to the home screen.

If using on-device OCR:

  • Tap "Continue" to go to the OCR results screen.

7. Review and Save

  • After reviewing the OCR results, continue to the Destination screen.

8. Destination Screen

  • On the Destination screen, you can save the scan as a Lead or Contact in Salesforce, or as a contact on your device.

9. Return to the Home Screen

  • When finished, tap the home icon to return to the home screen.

Here's a step-by-step interactive guide on scanning a business card with the Capture module.

Scanning an NFC Card


1. Go to the Capture module

  • Tap the Capture module to open the "Capture & Send" menu.

2. Select NFC Card

  • From the "Capture & Send" menu, select "NFC Reader".

3. Scan the NFC Card

  • Hold your device near the NFC card when prompted.

4. View Scan Results

  • After scanning the NFC card, the results will be displayed on the preview screen.
    • If you scan an NFC card with a URL, you can copy the text or visit the website.
    • When scanning an NFC card in vCard format, you can copy the text or open the contact details.

5. Open Contact Details

  • When scanning a vCard, selecting "Open Contact Details" will take you to the results screen, where you can review and edit the scan results.

6. Review and Save

  • After reviewing the scan results, tap the "Next" arrow to continue to the Destination screen.

7. Destination Screen

  • On the Destination screen, you can save the scan as a Lead or Contact in Salesforce, or as a contact on your device.

8. Return to the Home Screen

  • When finished, tap the home icon to return to the home screen.


Scanning a QR Code


To Scan a QR Code using the Capture Module:

1. Open the Capture Module

  • From the home screen, tap the Capture module.

2. Select QR Reader

  • In the ‘Capture & Send’ menu, select ‘QR Reader.’

3. Scan the QR Code

  • Point your device’s camera at the QR code.

4. View Scan Results

  • Once scanned, you’ll be directed to the QR Code scan results screen to view the results.

5. Copy or Open Contact Details

  • On the QR Code scan results screen, you can:
    • Copy the contact details to your device’s clipboard.
    • Open the contact details.

6. Share the vCard

  • To share the vCard, tap the ‘Share’ icon at the bottom left of the screen.

7. Open Contact Details

  • Select "Open Contact Details" to go to the scan results screen.

8. Review and Update Results

  • On the scan results screen, review and update the results if necessary.

9. Continue to the Destination Screen

  • After reviewing, tap the ‘Next’ arrow at the top right of the screen to proceed to the ‘Destination’ screen.

10. Save Scan Results

On the ‘Destination’ screen, you can:

• Add optional Salesforce enhancements to the scan before saving it as a Salesforce Contact or Lead.

• Save the scan as a contact on your device.

11. Return to the Home Screen

When finished, tap the home icon to return to the home screen.
