Getting Started with Vision-e Maps: A Quick Guide


Once you’ve installed the Vision-e Maps package from the AppExchange, follow these easy steps to start building maps.

1. Assign Licenses to Users

If you are not using a site license, individual Vision-e Maps users must be assigned a Maps license.

Steps to Assign a License:

1. Go to Setup in Salesforce.

2. In the Quick Find box, search for “Installed Packages”.

3. Locate “Vision-e Maps” in the list of installed packages.

4. Next to the Vision-e Maps package, click “Manage Licenses”.

5. In the Licensed Users section, click “Add Users”.

6. Select the user(s) who will be using Vision-e Maps.

7. Click “Add” to complete the process.


2. Assign the Vision-e Maps Permission Set

To use Vision-e Maps, users need the appropriate permission set. Without it, they won’t be able to access the app.

How to assign the permission set:

1. Go to Setup.

2. In the Quick Find search box, type “Permission Sets.”

3. Click “Permission Sets” from the results.

4. Find “Vision-e Maps” in the list of permission sets and select it.

5. Assign the permission set to the users who will be using Vision-e Maps.


3. Geocode Your Records

Before you can map records, they need to be geocoded.

How to geocode records:

1. Open the App Launcher and search for “Vision-e Maps.”

2. On the Map page, click the “Vision-e Geocodes” tab.

3. Select the object(s) you want to geocode.

4. Click “Geocode selected objects” to start the process.

5. Once it’s done, click “Download to Salesforce” to sync the data.

4. Start Creating Maps

After assigning permissions and geocoding your data, you’re all set! Now you can start creating maps and exploring your data visually with Vision-e Maps.
