Custom Page Layouts
Salesforce administrators can utilize the custom page layout feature to personalize the page layouts of the Scan app through the Mobile Scan Builder in Salesforce. Once custom layouts are enabled in Salesforce, administrators can customize the page layouts for Contact and Lead OCR result screens and customize the layouts for Task, Event, and Case Salesforce enhancement pages.
The page layouts can be customized to add or remove fields as well as customize the order they appear in the Scan app. We currently support custom page layouts for the Contact and Lead OCR results screens and the Event, Task, and Case Salesforce enhancements.
By default, custom page layouts aren't enabled and must be enabled in Salesforce.
Note: When custom page layouts are enabled, Scan app users will not be able to process scans using the on-device OCR when offline. In such cases, users need to send scans to the offline queue and then send them to the Scanning Queue when they are online again.

Customizing Page Layouts with the Mobile Scan Builder
Once custom page layouts have been enabled, administrators can customize the Scan app page layouts using the Mobile Scan Builder. This tool allows administrators to make edits to page layouts using a variety of tabs.
You can access the Mobile Scan Builder in Salesforce by following these steps:
- Click on the 'App Launcher.'
- Search for 'Mobile Scan Builder.'
- Choose either 'Mobile Scan Builder - Lightning' or 'Mobile Scan Builder.'
In the Mobile Scan Builder, page layouts can be found under the Lead, Contact, Task, Event, and Case tabs.
When you choose a page tab, it will display the following information: available fields, fields that can be added to the page, and the selected fields, which are the fields currently on the page.
Fields can be added to the page by selecting the field(s) you want to add and clicking the 'Move' arrow.
Fields can be removed from the page by selecting the field(s) you want to remove and clicking the 'Move' arrow.
Note: When customizing page layouts, be sure to include all required fields; otherwise, it could affect record creation.
Fields can be rearranged using the arrows next to the 'Selected' box.
When finished, click 'Save' to confirm the changes.
A pop-up will appear confirming that the changes have been saved. For the changes to take effect in the Scan app, users must reset the Scan app's settings or restart the app.
Enabling Custom Page Layouts In Salesforce using Custom Settings
Custom page layouts are not enabled by default in Salesforce. To utilize custom layouts, you must enable them. It's important to note that in Salesforce, the ability to configure custom layouts for Leads and Contacts is distinct from configuring custom layouts for Salesforce enhancements.
You have two choices for custom page layouts: one for the Contact and Lead 'OCR Results' pages, and another for Task, Event, and Case Salesforce enhancement pages. This enables administrators to pick the fields displayed on these respective pages.
To activate custom page layouts, follow these steps:
- Go to Setup.
- In the Quick Find search bar, type "custom settings".
- Select Custom Settings.
- Locate "eContacts Settings" and click Manage.
- Click Edit. Find the "Use Custom Layout" and "Use Custom Enhancement Layout" settings and enable them.
- Finally, click Save.
