With custom page layouts enabled, Scan app users can choose between inline updates and tap & update. Inline updates allow users to manually input new values in into fields, tap & update allows users to input values into fields by selecting values from the on-device OCR results.

Inline Updates

Users can now update fields of the OCR results using inline updates. When the user performs a scan using the Scan app and reviews the on-device OCR results, selecting "Inline Updates" will allow them to manually input new values into the OCR results fields to update them.

With "Inline Updates" selected, users can tap a field to manually input a new value.

When finished, tap "Done" on the keyboard to save the change.

Tap & Update

The "Tap & Update" feature allows Scan app users to update fields of the on-device OCR results using values from the on-device OCR. After performing a scan and going to the OCR Results screen, users can select "Tap & Update" at the top of the screen to update result fields.

With "Tap & Update" selected, when users select a field they will be taken to the edit screen, where they can choose a new value from a list of values from the on-device OCR.

Here, users can select a value or multiple values from the list to update the field. If the correct value isn't in the list, users can also manually input a value in the highlighted text box at the top of the screen.

After selecting a value, tap the Save icon at the top right to confirm the change.
